Region 2 Meetings

I am working on a couple of upcoming meetings for our Region. Since IU is no longer allowed to have pharmaceutical sales representatives come to our offices, I am having a hard time trying to contact speakers. I would love to have a fellow NP volunteer to do a talk for all of us.

I would also like to see if our fellow CAPNI members can recommend a speaker, etc. I have been unsuccessful in getting legislators to get together for a discussion with us. I am also trying to get someone from the Drug Abuse Task Force to do some type of presentation; however, no one returns e-mails. If anyone has any suggestions or knows who is on task force, please forward that information to me. We have been given a challenge to increase our numbers by 15 people. I would like to offer an incentive to current CAPNI members. For every person that you can recruit to join CAPNI (this includes student NP's), I will put your name in for a drawing of one free year membership to CAPNI.

If you refer someone - please send me their name and I will track once they join. Would like to have our 15 by August 15, 2016.

The last item I would like to discuss is the next State CAPNI Conference. I am co chairing this event this year. You will be receiving information soon about deadlines for abstracts, etc. We are looking for speakers and ideas on content. We also still need volunteers for this event. People to introduce speakers, checking people in, social committee, etc.

Thanks for your time. Please let's try to meet the challenge that CAPNI has given us. CAPNI is operated with the dues they receive. We are trying hard to retire the collaborative agreement and other important agenda items that will help benefit and decrease barriers to quality patient care.
